Advanced Information

Practice Description

The Center for Family Resolution was founded to create a better way for families to approach conflict. Conflict can be difficult because it involves high emotions and can often be seen as a win or lose proposition. We may feel threatened and alone in the process. Old ways of dealing with conflict often don’t work. With the right support and technical expertise, we open up the possibility for conflict resolution. Amy engages all parties and mediates with neutrality and confidence to catalyze the most beneficial and satisfying outcomes. Appropriate issues for mediation at the Center for Family Resolution include separation and divorce, parenting issues, communication, custody, family finances, discipline, school issues, teacher – parent relations, caregiver issues, or differences in parenting styles. Additionally, mediation can be used to make decisions for family events. Amy includes pre-mediation coaching for the clients as needed to help manage emotions, to prepare for negotiating effectively, and on technical matters.
